Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Veterans Memorial Patriots (San Antonio, TX) and the host Somerset Bulldogs (Somerset, TX), saw Veterans Memorial's basketball squad hold off Somerset by a tally of 49-44.

With the victory, Veterans Memorial improves its record to 17-3 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Medina Valley (Castroville, TX) to play the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, December 20. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 4-10.

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Antonian Prep Apaches (San Antonio, TX) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, December 17. Somerset will attempt to improve on its 12-6 season record. The Apaches come into the challenge with a 14-6 record after their 77-76 non-league loss to Judson (Converse, TX).
