Texas High School Basketball - Stanton thwarts Sonora
December 16, 2022: Sonora, TX 76950 The Stanton Buffaloes (Stanton, TX) basketball knocked off the host Sonora Broncos (Sonora, TX), 40-28 in Friday's non-league test.
The Buffaloes (7-5) will now prepare for their test against Kermit (Kermit, TX). The Yellow Jackets go into the 3A Region I District 4 test with a 7-8 record. In their last test, Kermit notched a victory over Trinity (Midland, TX), 57-32, in a non-league test.
The Broncos now own a 3-4 record. They play next when they travel to Reagan County for a 2A Region I District 7 test on Monday, December 19. Sonora will encounter a Owls squad coming off a 66-51 non-league win over Jim Ned (Tuscola, TX). The Owls record now stands at 9-7.
