California High School Basketball - Murrieta Mesa nips Downey

Murrieta Mesa Rams (Murrieta, CA) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Downey Vikings (Downey, CA), 64-59 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Murrieta Mesa upgrades its record to 6-4 on the campaign. The Rams host Norco (Norco, CA) to play the Cougars in a non-league bout on Monday, December 18. The Cougars come into the bout with a record of 8-6. Norco won 66-49 in their recent non-league bout against Citrus Valley (Redlands, CA)

Next up, the Vikings play the Lapwai Wildcats (Lapwai, ID) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 28. Downey will attempt to upgrade on its 6-7 season record. The Wildcats come into the bout with a 5-1 record after their 57-52 non-league loss to Baker (Baker City, OR).
