December 16, 2023: Fairfield, IL 62837 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Fairfield Mules (Fairfield, IL) and the visiting Newton Eagles (Newton, IL), saw Fairfield's basketball squad overcome Newton by a tally of 60-51.
With the victory, Fairfield improves its record to 6-4 on the campaign. The Mules travel to Edwards County (Albion, IL) to confront the Lions in a Black Diamond - East challenge on Tuesday, January 2. The Lions come into the challenge with a record of 6-6.
Next up, the Eagles confront the Charleston Trojans (Charleston, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, December 19. Newton will attempt to improve on its 7-3 season record. The Trojans come into the challenge with a 5-3 record after their 50-36 non-league loss to St. Anthony (Effingham, IL).
