December 16, 2023: Allentown, PA 18102 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Gwynedd Mercy Academy Monarchs (Gwynedd Valley, PA) and the host Allentown Central Catholic Vikings (Allentown, PA), saw Gwynedd Mercy Academy's basketball squad hold off Allentown Central Catholic by a tally of 35-31.
With the victory, Gwynedd Mercy Academy improves its record to 4-1 on the campaign. The Monarchs host Merion Mercy Academy (Merion Station, PA) to confront the Golden Bears in a Catholic Academies challenge on Tuesday, December 19. The Golden Bears come into the challenge with a record of 1-4. Merion Mercy Academy lost 40-15 in their recent non-league challenge against Agnes Irwin (Rosemont, PA)
Next up, the Vikings confront the Emmaus Hornets (Emmaus, PA) in a Lehigh Valley challenge, on Thursday, December 21. Allentown Central Catholic will attempt to improve on its 0-2 season record.
