December 16, 2023: Halsey, OR 97348 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Weston-McEwen TigerScots (Athena, OR) and the host Central Linn Cobras (Halsey, OR), saw Weston-McEwen's basketball squad knock off Central Linn by a tally of 42-29.
With the victory, Weston-McEwen improves its record to 7-1 on the campaign. The TigerScots travel to Umatilla (Umatilla, OR) to play the Vikings in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, December 19. The Vikings come into the challenge with a record of 4-3. Umatilla won 50-47 in their recent non-league challenge against Nixyaawii Community (Pendleton, OR)
Next up, the Cobras play the Gold Beach Panthers (Gold Beach, OR) in a 2A Valley Coast challenge, on Tuesday, December 19. Central Linn will attempt to improve on its 1-4 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 0-6 record after their 52-17 non-league loss to Myrtle Point (Myrtle Point, OR).
