Polo Marcos (Polo, IL) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Newman Central Catholic Comets (Sterling, IL), 43-42 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Polo upgrades its record to 6-7 on the season. The Marcos host River Ridge/Scales Mound (Hanover, IL) to play the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Monday, December 18. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 9-3. River Ridge/Scales Mound won 50-34 in their recent non-league bout against Newman Central Catholic (Sterling, IL)

Next up, the Comets play the Forreston Cardinals (Forreston, IL) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 19. Newman Central Catholic will attempt to upgrade on its 5-9 season record. The Cardinals go into the bout with a 1-11 record after their 35-28 non-league loss to Polo (Polo, IL).
