California High School Basketball - Portola edges Santa Margarita
December 16, 2023: Rancho Santa Margarita, CA 92688 The Portola Bulldogs (Irvine, CA) basketball nipped the host Santa Margarita Eagles (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA), 42-38 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Bulldogs (10-2) will now prepare for their test against San Juan Hills (San Juan Capistrano, CA). The Stallions go into the non-league test with a 8-6 record. In their last test, San Juan Hills got by Bonita (La Verne, CA), 62-41, in a non-league test.
The Eagles now own a 9-4 record. They play next when they travel to Rosary Academy for a Trinity test on Wednesday, January 3. Santa Margarita will encounter a Royals squad coming off a 61-52 non-league win over Roosevelt (Eastvale, CA). The Royals record now stands at 10-2.
