December 16, 2024: Grundy Center, IA 50638 The crowd at Monday's non-league challenge between the Grundy Center Spartans (Grundy Center, IA) and the visiting Charles City Comets (Charles City, IA), observed Grundy Center's basketball team overwhelm Charles City by a score of 83-38.
The Spartans (4-0) will now prepare for their challenge against East Marshall (Le Grand, IA). The Mustangs come into the North Iowa Cedar - West challenge with a 2-4 record. In their last challenge, East Marshall trounced AGWSR (Ackley, IA), 54-40, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Comets encounter the New Hampton Chickasaws (New Hampton, IA) in a Northeast Iowa challenge, on Tuesday, December 17. Charles City will attempt to improve on its 2-3 season record. The Chickasaws come into the challenge with a 1-4 record after their 81-52 league loss to Decorah-North Winneshiek (Decorah, IA).
