California High School Basketball - Golden Valley holds off Downey
December 17, 2021: Modesto, CA 95355 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Golden Valley Cougars (Merced, CA) and the host Downey Knights (Modesto, CA), saw Golden Valley's basketball squad hold off Downey by a tally of 59-54.
With the victory, Golden Valley improves its record to 2-4 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Oakdale (Oakdale, CA) to confront the Mustangs in a non-league challenge on Saturday, December 18. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a record of 4-3. Oakdale won 44-43 in their recent non-league challenge against Gregori (Modesto, CA)
Next up, the Knights confront the Sonora Wildcats (Sonora, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, January 3. Downey will attempt to improve on its 1-3 season record.
