The Alton Comets basketball team scored 69 points and held the visiting Viola Longhorns to 45 in the Comets non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Comets now sport a 4-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Willow Springs for a non-league contest on Tuesday, December 20.

The Longhorns (2-14) will now prepare for their contest against Rural Special (Fox, AR). The Rebels enter the 1A Region 2 contest with a 2-13 record. In their last contest, Rural Special was routed by Norfork (Norfork, AR), 64-46, in a league contest.
