Ohio High School Basketball - Minerva edges Springfield

The Minerva Lions (Minerva, OH) basketball nipped the host Springfield Spartans (Akron, OH), 61-54 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Lions (4-3) will now prepare for their test against Claymont (Uhrichsville, OH). The Mustangs go into the non-league test with a 2-4 record. In their last test, Claymont was tipped by Sandy Valley (Magnolia, OH), 53-44, in a league test.

The Spartans now own a 3-5 record. They play next when they travel to East Palestine for a non-league test on Tuesday, December 20. Springfield will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 59-19 non-league win over Lordstown (Warren, OH). The Bulldogs record now stands at 2-2.
