December 17, 2022: Houston, TX 77019 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Fort Bend Christian Academy Eagles (Sugar Land, TX) and the host St. John's Mavericks (Houston, TX), saw Fort Bend Christian Academy's basketball squad hold off St. John's by a tally of 42-40.
With the victory, Fort Bend Christian Academy improves its record to 6-8 on the campaign. The Eagles host Second Baptist (Houston, TX) to play the Eagles in a TAPPS 5A District 5 challenge on Tuesday, January 3. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 6-3.
Next up, the Mavericks play the Poetry Community Christian Pioneer (Poetry, TX) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, December 17. St. John's will attempt to improve on its 9-7 season record. The Pioneer come into the challenge with a 15-3 record after their 51-32 non-league loss to Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart (Houston, TX).
