Holy Spirit Spartans (Absecon, NJ) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Vineland Fighting Clan (Vineland, NJ), 44-43 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Holy Spirit upgrades its record to 2-0 on the campaign. The Spartans host Medford Tech (Medford, NJ) to play the Jaguars in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 20. The Jaguars come into the bout with a record of 0-1.

Next up, the Fighting Clan play the Kingsway Dragons (Woolwich Township, NJ) in a non-league bout, on Monday, December 19. Vineland will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Dragons come into the bout with a 0-2 record after their 44-32 non-league loss to Rancocas Valley (Mt. Holly, NJ).
