Texas High School Basketball - Stratford overwhelms River Road
December 17, 2024: Amarillo, TX 79108 The Stratford Elks basketball team scored 77 points and limited the host River Road Wildcats to 13 in the Elks non-league triumph on Tuesday.
The Elks now possess a 15-1 record. They play next when they host Vega for a 2A Region I District 1 game on Friday, December 20. Stratford will confront a Longhorns team coming off a 48-13 league loss to Spearman (Spearman, TX). The Longhorns record now stands at 10-3.
With the loss, River Road falls to 1-7 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Sanford-Fritch (Fritch, TX) to confront the Eagles in a non-league game on Friday, December 20. The Eagles go into the game with a record of 9-4. Sanford-Fritch won 40-38 in their recent league game against West Texas (Stinnett, TX)
