December 17, 2024: Valdese, NC 28690 Owen Warhorses (Black Mountain, NC) boosters left the game satisfied Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the host Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC), 62-50 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Owen upgrades its record to 1-4 on the year. The Warhorses host Tuscola (Waynesville, NC) to face the Mountaineers in a non-league match on Monday, December 23. The Mountaineers enter the match with a record of 1-3. Tuscola lost 59-31 in their recent non-league match against Brevard (Brevard, NC)
The Wildcats now sport a 0-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Avery County for a non-league match on Thursday, December 19. Draughn will face a Vikings squad coming off a 66-35 non-league loss to Harnett Central (Angier, NC). The Vikings record now stands at 2-3.
