The Hertford County Bears (Ahoskie, NC) basketball felled the visiting Northampton County Jaguars (Gaston, NC), 58-41 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Bears (5-1) will now prepare for their test against Northeastern (Elizabeth City, NC). The Eagles go into the 2A/3A Conference 15 test with a 0-0 record.

The Jaguars now own a 2-3 record. They play next when they travel to Wilson Prep for a 1A Conference 9 test on Tuesday, December 21. Northampton County will encounter a Tigers squad coming off a 89-61 league win over Warren County (Warrenton, NC). The Tigers record now stands at 4-1.
