Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the La Jolla Vikings (La Jolla, CA) and the visiting Kearny Komets (San Diego, CA), saw La Jolla's basketball squad hold off Kearny by a tally of 44-40.

With the victory, La Jolla improves its record to 8-6 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to Del Norte (San Diego, CA) to confront the Nighthawks in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, December 20. The Nighthawks come into the challenge with a record of 9-0. Del Norte won 67-64 in their recent non-league outing against Eastlake (Chula Vista, CA)
