West Virginia High School Basketball - Laurel Highlands toppled by University
December 18, 2024: Morgantown, WV 26508 University Hawks (Morgantown, WV) boosters left the game satisfied Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the visiting Laurel Highlands Mustangs (Uniontown, PA), 65-49 in a non-league match.
With the victory, University upgrades its record to 1-0 on the year. The Hawks host Washington (Charles Town, WV) to face the Patriots in a non-league match on Friday, December 20. The Patriots enter the match with a record of 1-0. Washington won 84-72 in their recent non-league match against Parkersburg (Parkersburg, WV)
The Mustangs now sport a 2-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Greater Latrobe for a WPIAL 5A 1 match on Friday, December 20. Laurel Highlands will face a Wildcats squad coming off a 81-53 league loss to Uniontown (Uniontown, PA). The Wildcats record now stands at 4-1.
