Coaches Summary

First Quarter

First Quarter Piper came out strong with energetic defense and fluid ball movement.

Second Quarter

Vashun Johnson played a strong half crashing boards and getting involved on the offensive end.

Third Quarter

Piper started to get out rebounded in this quarter which allowed McArthur to comeback and cut the lead to single digits.

Fourth Quarter

Costly turnovers and lack of rebounding allowed Mc Arthur to take their first lead of the game in the fourth quarter. Piper stayed poise and kept fighting despite being challenged and tired. A big three point shot from Brandon Watson at the top of the key put Piper up by one. Late assist to Julian Samaroo from Brandon Watson tied the game at 40 a piece.

Overtime

Strong rebound and basket from Vashun Johnson tied the game at 42 a piece. Clutch free throws from Jalen Samaroo tied the game at 44-44 and sent the game into the 2nd overtime. Big shot at the top of the key from Jakari Smith put the Bengals up by 1. Jalen Samaroo late game free throw put the Bengals up by 2 and sealed the win for Piper.
