Mississippi High School Basketball - Yazoo County holds off Gentry
December 19, 2023: Indianola, MS 38751 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Yazoo County Panthers (Yazoo City, MS) and the host Gentry Rams (Indianola, MS), saw Yazoo County's basketball squad hold off Gentry by a tally of 37-32.
With the victory, Yazoo County improves its record to 10-4 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Forest Hill (Jackson, MS) to confront the Patriots in a non-league challenge on Friday, December 22. The Patriots come into the challenge with a record of 5-7. Forest Hill lost 60-38 in their recent non-league challenge against Holmes County Central (Lexington, MS)
Next up, the Rams confront the Jefferson Davis County Jaguars (Bassfield, MS) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, December 28. Gentry will attempt to improve on its 7-3 season record. The Jaguars come into the challenge with a 9-1 record after their 80-62 non-league win over Columbia (Columbia, MS).
