Iowa High School Basketball - Nebraska City overwhelms Jefferson
December 19, 2024: Council Bluffs, IA 51501 The Nebraska City Pioneers basketball team scored 52 points and limited the host Jefferson Yellowjackets to 21 in the Pioneers non-league triumph on Thursday.
The Pioneers now have a 2-4 record. They play next when they travel to Louisville for a non-league game on Thursday, January 2. Nebraska City will confront a Lions team coming off a 46-39 league win over Brownell Talbot (Omaha, NE). The Lions record now stands at 4-3.
With the loss, Jefferson falls to 0-5 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets host Lincoln (Council Bluffs, IA) to confront the Lynx in a Missouri River game on Friday, December 20. The Lynx go into the game with a record of 2-3. Lincoln lost 64-58 in their recent league game against Le Mars (Le Mars, IA)
