In Saturday's non-league match, the visiting Galax Maroon Tide football squad scored a good 49-36 victory over the Honaker Tigers.

In their next game, the Maroon Tide clash with the Essex Trojans (Tappahannock, VA) in a non-league match, on Saturday, December 9. Galax will attempt to move on its 10-4 season record. The Trojans enter the match with a 14-0 record after their 16-8 non-league win over Altavista (Altavista, VA).
