Texas High School Basketball - Athens overwhelmed by LaPoynor
December 2, 2023: Athens, TX 75751 The LaPoynor Flyers basketball team scored 67 points and restricted the host Athens Hornets to 25 in the Flyers non-league victory on Saturday.
The Flyers now sport a 9-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Alba-Golden for a non-league contest on Tuesday, December 5. LaPoynor will battle a Panthers team coming off a 48-29 non-league loss to Chapel Hill (Mount Pleasant, TX). The Panthers record now stands at 2-4.
The Hornets (1-8) will now prepare for their contest against Whitehouse (Whitehouse, TX). The Wildcats come into the non-league contest with a 9-4 record.
