Texas High School Basketball - Zapata thwarts Taft
December 2, 2023: Zapata, TX 78076 The Zapata Hawks (Zapata, TX) basketball knocked off the visiting Taft Greyhounds (Taft, TX), 49-38 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Hawks (4-3) will now prepare for their test against Agua Dulce (Agua Dulce, TX). The Longhorns go into the non-league test with a 3-3 record. In their last test, Agua Dulce notched a victory over Lasara (Lasara, TX), 41-38, in a non-league test.
The Greyhounds now own a 6-7 record. They play next when they travel to Hebbronville for a non-league test on Saturday, December 2. Taft will encounter a Longhorns squad coming off a 26-20 non-league win over Agua Dulce (Agua Dulce, TX). The Longhorns record now stands at 1-1.
