Bernalillo Spartans (Bernalillo, NM) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Valencia Jaguars (Los Lunas, NM), 66-59 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Bernalillo upgrades its record to 3-6 on the campaign. The Spartans host Taos (Taos, NM) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 22. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 2-6. Taos won 56-48 in their recent non-league bout against Socorro (Socorro, NM)

Next up, the Jaguars play the Goddard Rockets (Roswell, NM) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 22. Valencia will attempt to upgrade on its 2-10 season record. The Rockets come into the bout with a 5-5 record after their 78-49 non-league win over Chaparral (Chaparral, NM).
