Massachusetts High School Basketball - Saugus nips Winthrop
December 20, 2021: Saugus, MA 01906 Saugus Sachems (Saugus, MA) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Winthrop Vikings (Winthrop, MA), 60-55 in a league bout.
With the win, Saugus upgrades its record to 2-0 on the season. The Sachems travel to Triton Regional (Byfield, MA) to play the Vikings in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 28. The Vikings go into the bout with a record of 2-0. Triton Regional won 54-42 in their recent non-league bout against Rockport (Rockport, MA)
Next up, the Vikings play the Gloucester Fishermen (Gloucester, MA) in a Northeastern - Small bout, on Wednesday, December 22. Winthrop will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record. The Fishermen go into the bout with a 0-1 record after their 60-55 league loss to Swampscott (Swampscott, MA).
