Illinois High School Basketball - Marmion can't hold off Marquette
December 20, 2023: Aurora, IL 60502 The Marmion Cadets basketball team (Aurora, IL), was nudged 71-68 in Wednesday's non-league battle with the visiting Marquette Crusaders (Ottawa, IL)
The Crusaders now sport a 4-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Yorkville Christian for a non-league battle on Friday, December 22. Marquette will battle a Mustangs team coming off a 90-66 non-league loss to Rockford Auburn (Rockford, IL). The Mustangs record now stands at 5-8.
The Cadets (5-7) will now prepare for their battle against Oregon (Oregon, IL). The Hawks come into the non-league battle with a 7-5 record. In their last battle, Oregon was nudged by Newman Central Catholic (Sterling, IL), 66-44, in a non-league battle.
