Virginia High School Basketball - Rural Retreat crushes Eastern Montgomery
December 20, 2023: Rural Retreat, VA 24368 Rural Retreat Indians (Rural Retreat, VA) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Eastern Montgomery Mustangs (Elliston, VA), 51-16 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Rural Retreat upgrades its record to 5-2 on the season. The Indians host Grayson County (Independence, VA) to clash with the Blue Devils in a non-league bout on Wednesday, December 27. The Blue Devils go into the bout with a record of 4-3. Grayson County lost 42-23 in their recent non-league bout against Mount Airy (Mount Airy, NC)
Next up, the Mustangs clash with the Roanoke Catholic Celtics (Roanoke, VA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 29. Eastern Montgomery will attempt to upgrade on its 0-6 season record. The Celtics go into the bout with a 1-3 record after their 47-17 league loss to Virginia Episcopal School (Lynchburg, VA).
