The Artesia Pioneers basketball squad (Lakewood, CA), was crushed 67-42 in Friday's non-league battle with the host Desert Vista Thunder (Phoenix, AZ)

With the victory, Desert Vista advances its record to 8-3 on the year. The Thunder travel to St. Thomas More (Lafayette, LA) to meet the Cougars in a non-league battle on Saturday, December 21. The Cougars enter the battle with a record of 5-1. St. Thomas More won 77-43 in their recent non-league battle against North Central (Lebeau, LA)

The Pioneers now own a 6-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Mountain View for a non-league battle on Saturday, December 21. Artesia will meet a Mountain Lions squad coming off a 64-53 non-league win over El Capitan (Colorado City, AZ). The Mountain Lions record now stands at 5-4.
