Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Erie can't hold off Hickory
December 20, 2024: Hermitage, PA 16148 Hickory Hornets (Hermitage, PA) supporters left the game happy Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting Erie Royals (Erie, PA), 62-55 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Hickory advances its record to 4-1 on the year. The Hornets host Shenango (New Castle, PA) to face the Wildcats in a non-league match on Friday, December 27. The Wildcats enter the match with a record of 3-4. Shenango won 61-21 in their recent league match against Laurel (New Castle, PA)
The Royals now own a 2-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Troy for a non-league match on Saturday, December 28. Erie will face a Trojans squad coming off a 57-40 league win over North Penn-Mansfield (Mansfield, PA). The Trojans record now stands at 2-0.
