In Friday's non-league contest, the host Phillips Wildcats basketball team scored a good 56-43 triumph over the Hammond Central Wolves.

The Wildcats (11-5) will now prepare for their contest against University Prep (Detroit, MI). The Panthers go into the non-league contest with a 4-0 record.

In their next game, the Wolves battle the Valparaiso Vikings (Valparaiso, IN) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, December 21. Hammond Central will attempt to better on its 9-2 season record. The Vikings go into the contest with a 8-4 record after their 63-35 league win over Chesterton (Chesterton, IN).
