Leading Edge Academy - GEC Spartans (Gilbert, AZ) fans went home pleased Friday as they observed their basketball team overwhelm the visiting San Tan Foothills Sabercats (Queen Creek, AZ), 51-19 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans (3-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Bisbee (Bisbee, AZ). The Pumas come into the non-league challenge with a 5-6 record. In their last challenge, Bisbee trounced Desert Christian (Tucson, AZ), 42-40, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Sabercats encounter the Payson Longhorns (Payson, AZ) in a 3A Metro challenge, on Tuesday, January 7. San Tan Foothills will attempt to improve on its 5-4 season record.
