The Nucla Mustangs basketball team scored 59 points and limited the host Monticello Buckaroo to 47 in the Mustangs non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Mustangs now possess a 8-0 record. They play next when they travel to Ridgway for a 3A/2A/1A San Juan game on Thursday, January 8. Nucla will clash with a Demons squad coming off a 66-55 non-league win over Cedaredge (Cedaredge, CO). The Demons record now stands at 2-3.

The Buckaroo (2-7) will now prepare for their test against Dolores (Dolores, CO). The Bears come into the non-league test with a 5-2 record. In their last test, Dolores overcame West Grand (Kremmling, CO), 54-48, in a non-league test.
