Metamora Redbirds (Metamora, IL) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Normal University Pioneers (Normal, IL), 67-47 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Metamora upgrades its record to 6-2 on the campaign. The Redbirds host Bloomington (Bloomington, IL) to play the Purple Raiders in a non-league bout on Wednesday, December 22. The Purple Raiders come into the bout with a record of 2-8. Bloomington won 58-56 in their recent non-league test against Rantoul (Rantoul, IL)

The Pioneers now own a 5-7 record. They play next when they travel to Jacksonville for a Central State Eight test on Tuesday, January 4.
