In Wednesday's non-league match, the host Piedmont Panthers basketball team scored a good 67-51 triumph over the Queen's Grant Stallions.

In their next game, the Panthers meet the Cuthbertson Cavaliers (Waxhaw, NC) in a 4A Conference 58 match, on Tuesday, January 3. Piedmont will attempt to move on its 6-3 season record.

With the defeat, Queen's Grant moves to 7-4 on the year. The Stallions host Sugar Creek (Charlotte, NC) to meet the Wildcats in a 1A Conference 38 match on Friday, January 6. The Wildcats enter the match with a record of 3-5. Sugar Creek lost 58-53 in their recent league match against Piedmont Community Charter (Gastonia, NC)
