The Dowagiac Chieftains basketball team scored 48 points and held the visiting Coloma Comets to 40 in the Chieftains non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Chieftains now sport a 4-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Watervliet for a non-league contest on Friday, January 5. Dowagiac will battle a Panthers team coming off a 72-52 non-league win over Allegan (Allegan, MI). The Panthers record now stands at 5-1.

The Comets (1-6) will now prepare for their contest against St. Joseph (St. Joseph, MI). The Bears enter the non-league contest with a 4-3 record. In their last contest, St. Joseph was defeated by Portage Central (Portage, MI), 77-45, in a league contest.
