December 21, 2023: Onida, SD 57564 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Sully Buttes Chargers (Onida, SD) and the visiting Wolsey-Wessington Warbirds (Wolsey, SD), saw Sully Buttes's basketball squad hold off Wolsey-Wessington by a tally of 62-61.
With the victory, Sully Buttes improves its record to 2-1 on the campaign. The Chargers host Highmore/Harrold (Highmore, SD) to confront the Pirates in a B Region 6 challenge on Thursday, January 4. The Pirates come into the challenge with a record of 0-3.
Next up, the Warbirds confront the Miller Rustlers (Miller, SD) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 2. Wolsey-Wessington will attempt to improve on its 3-1 season record. The Rustlers come into the challenge with a 1-3 record after their 67-63 league win over Cheyenne-Eagle Butte (Eagle Butte, SD).
