December 21, 2023: Dubuque, IA 52002 The Hempstead Mustangs (Dubuque, IA) basketball nipped the visiting Platteville Hillmen (Platteville, WI), 58-51 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Mustangs (3-6) will now prepare for their test against Western Dubuque (Epworth, IA). The Bobcats go into the Mississippi Valley test with a 5-4 record. In their last test, Western Dubuque was tipped by Cedar Falls (Cedar Falls, IA), 54-36, in a league test.
The Hillmen now own a 5-5 record. They play next when they host Stoughton for a non-league test on Thursday, December 28. Platteville will encounter a Vikings squad coming off a 43-30 non-league loss to Sauk Prairie (Prairie du Sac, WI). The Vikings record now stands at 1-8.
