Maine High School Basketball - Leavitt edges Poland
December 21, 2023: Turner, ME 04282 The Leavitt Hornets (Turner, ME) basketball nipped the visiting Poland Knights (Poland, ME), 44-41 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Hornets (3-1) will now prepare for their test against Lake Region (Naples, ME). The Lakers go into the B South test with a 2-2 record. In their last test, Lake Region was tipped by Gray-New Gloucester (Gray, ME), 66-38, in a non-league test.
The Knights now own a 1-3 record. They play next when they travel to Sacopee Valley for a C South test on Friday, December 29. Poland will encounter a Hawks squad coming off a 42-21 league win over Boothbay (Boothbay Harbor, ME). The Hawks record now stands at 2-1.
