McKinley Red Dragons (Niles, OH) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Mathews Mustangs (Vienna, OH), 37-29 in a non-league bout.

With the win, McKinley upgrades its record to 3-5 on the season. The Red Dragons travel to Maplewood (Cortland, OH) to clash with the Rockets in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 28. The Rockets go into the bout with a record of 5-3. Maplewood lost 55-48 in their recent league bout against Pymatuning Valley (Andover, OH)

Next up, the Mustangs clash with the Liberty Leopards (Youngstown, OH) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, December 27. Mathews will attempt to upgrade on its 2-8 season record. The Leopards go into the bout with a 0-8 record after their 56-27 league loss to LaBrae (Leavittsburg, OH).
