Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Monessen trounced by Greater Latrobe
December 21, 2024: Latrobe, PA 15650 Greater Latrobe Wildcats (Latrobe, PA) supporters left the game happy Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the visiting Monessen Greyhounds (Monessen, PA), 80-55 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Greater Latrobe advances its record to 6-1 on the year. The Wildcats travel to Penn-Trafford (Harrison City, PA) to meet the Warriors in a WPIAL 5A 1 match on Friday, January 3. The Warriors enter the match with a record of 4-4.
The Greyhounds now own a 3-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Serra Catholic for a WPIAL 1A 2 match on Friday, January 3. Monessen will meet a Eagles squad coming off a 82-42 league win over Geibel Catholic (Connellsville, PA). The Eagles record now stands at 8-1.
