Kentucky High School Basketball - Harlan County thwarts Sumter
December 21, 2024: Harlan, KY 40831 The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Harlan County Black Bears (Harlan, KY) and the visiting Sumter Gamecocks (Sumter, SC), observed Harlan County's basketball team knock off Sumter by a score of 62-50.
The Black Bears (5-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Hilton Head Island (Hilton Head Island, SC). The Seahawks come into the non-league challenge with a 3-5 record. In their last challenge, Hilton Head Island prevailed over Westwood (Memphis, TN), 76-66, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Gamecocks encounter the Westside Rams (Anderson, SC) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, December 27. Sumter will attempt to improve on its 3-6 season record. The Rams come into the challenge with a 10-0 record after their 84-55 non-league win over Boiling Springs (Spartanburg, SC).
