New York High School Basketball - Iona Prep overwhelms Poughkeepsie
December 21, 2024: New Rochelle, NY 10804 The Iona Prep Gaels basketball team scored 90 points and limited the visiting Poughkeepsie Pioneers to 42 in the Gaels non-league triumph on Saturday.
The Gaels now possess a 7-2 record. They play next when they host St. Peter's for a Catholic AA - New York game on Sunday, December 22. Iona Prep will confront a Eagles team coming off a 63-55 non-league win over Taylor Allderdice (Pittsburgh, PA). The Eagles record now stands at 5-2.
With the loss, Poughkeepsie falls to 1-2 on the campaign. The Pioneers host North Rockland (Thiells, NY) to confront the Raiders in a non-league game on Thursday, January 9. The Raiders go into the game with a record of 5-1.
