Mississippi High School Soccer - Long Beach nudges Lafayette
December 21, 2024: Long Beach, MS 39560 Fans at Saturday's non-league battle between the Long Beach Bearcats (Long Beach, MS) and the visiting Lafayette Commodores (Oxford, MS), saw Long Beach's soccer squad hold off Lafayette by a count of 1-0.
The Bearcats (3-7) will now prepare for their battle against Poplarville (Poplarville, MS). The Hornets enter the non-league battle with a 3-6 record. In their last battle, Poplarville was edged by Pass Christian (Pass Christian, MS), 3-1, in a league battle.
Next up, the Commodores battle the New Albany Bulldogs (New Albany, MS) in a non-league battle, on Saturday, January 4. Lafayette will attempt to upgrade on its 8-7 season record. The Bulldogs enter the battle with a 11-3 record after their 5-0 non-league win over Itawamba Agricultural (Fulton, MS).
