The Holy Spirit Spartans basketball team scored 61 points and held the visiting Cedar Creek Pirates to 54 in the Spartans league triumph on Thursday.

The Spartans now sport a 1-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Wildwood Catholic for a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 3.

The Pirates (2-3) will now prepare for their contest against Southern Regional (Manahawkin, NJ). The Rams enter the non-league contest with a 3-0 record. In their last contest, Southern Regional nudged Toms River South (Toms River, NJ), 43-21, in a league contest.
