The Sonora Wildcats (Sonora, CA) basketball nipped the visiting Merced Bears (Merced, CA), 53-50 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Wildcats (5-9) will now prepare for their test against Escalon (Escalon, CA). The Cougars go into the non-league test with a 8-4 record. In their last test, Escalon got by Johansen (Modesto, CA), 63-32, in a non-league test.
