North Carolina High School Basketball - Patton nips Mitchell
December 22, 2022: Morganton, NC 28655 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Patton Panthers (Morganton, NC) and the visiting Mitchell Mountaineers (Bakersville, NC), saw Patton's basketball squad hold off Mitchell by a count of 51-50.
With the victory, Patton upgrades its record to 6-4 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to East Rutherford (Forest City, NC) to play the Cavaliers in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 3. The Cavaliers come into the challenge with a record of 3-2. East Rutherford lost 52-44 in their recent non-league challenge against Brevard (Brevard, NC)
Next up, the Mountaineers play the North Buncombe Black Hawks (Weaverville, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, January 4. Mitchell will attempt to upgrade on its 7-1 season record.
