Russell Red Devils (Russell, KY) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Spring Valley Timberwolves (Huntington, WV), 63-55 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Russell upgrades its record to 3-3 on the season. The Red Devils travel to Newport Central Catholic (Newport, KY) to play the Thoroughbreds in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 28. The Thoroughbreds go into the bout with a record of 3-7. Newport Central Catholic lost 68-40 in their recent non-league bout against Archbishop Hoban (Akron, OH)

Next up, the Timberwolves play the Princeton Tigers (Princeton, WV) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, December 27. Spring Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 3-2 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 2-0 record after their 78-55 non-league win over Riverside (Belle, WV).
