December 22, 2023: Cedarville, AR 72932 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Elkins Elks (Elkins, AR) and the host Cedarville Pirates (Cedarville, AR), saw Elkins's basketball squad hold off Cedarville by a count of 41-37.
With the victory, Elkins upgrades its record to 9-4 on the campaign. The Elks host Mansfield (Mansfield, AR) to play the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, December 27. The Tigers come into the challenge with a record of 11-0. Mansfield won 72-61 in their recent non-league challenge against Acorn (Mena, AR)
Next up, the Pirates play the Cossatot River Eagles (Cove, AR) in a 3A Region 4 challenge, on Friday, January 5. Cedarville will attempt to upgrade on its 7-8 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 9-5 record after their 33-28 league win over Hackett (Hackett, AR).
